Everything that the Western pervasive categorisation and dichotomization of nations associates with the so-called third world literally projects the United States of America today yet the immorality in the US politics does not affect its status in Western capitals. Arguably, skin colour is the major factor in the ‘First and Third World’ categorisation. White dominated nations classified countries and attached value based on their skewed views on race, they used their culture and traditions as standard, used their preferences and opinions as facts, and the further a nation deviated from White values, the lower it was ranked. Other people’s customs and beliefs were deemed deviant and sinful and required redemption.
Africa must rewire itself and organise its citizenry on a mission of independence of thought. The continent’s nations must detach from a world moral system designed by white supremacists whose interests were never in good faith but the systemic dehumanisation and stigmatization of black people, justifying immorality of the politics of the West and the globalisation of the White man’s value system.
Immorality is not a racial attribute but human design; people do not display immoral conduct because they are Black or White but because they act on insane human impulses founded on personalities, physical and emotional exposure to extremities, that has nothing to do with race. The White moral superiority complex is a delusion that has massaged white ego for centuries and must be rebuked for the benefit of humanity.
Let us not see ourselves through the lens of anyone but ourselves. Our values system must be drawn from how we identify ourselves not what others think we are. All things the Western world has ever ascribed to others happen to be deeply ingrained in the US society and will not suddenly disappear because the complicit media is purposefully diverting attention away towards perceived immorality of others.
The immorality in the US politics is evident for all to see, it stinks up to hell; whatever we may think of, they have it – rabid corruption, suppression of women’s fertility rights, demeaning women, homophobia, elevation of emotion over science based judgement where the church is the foundation to justify or excuse human rights abuses, suppressing dissenting voices, threats to the media and academia, partisan gerrymandering of constituencies to deny certain population groups a voice, executive contempt of the judiciary, having a king for president, having for president a convicted felon who also happens to be a close friend of a paedophile and sex traffickers, racial profiling of the population and using state agents to kidnap perceived foreigners and deporting them to countries where they have never been before, that is the US reality.
Communism and socialism have been turned into sociopolitical slurs that inhibit individual creativity and promote freeloaders, yet capitalism is not demonised for promoting greed and protecting the interests of the rich, the famous and well-connected in society. Capitalism may create wealth but so does communism and socialism. It is where wealth goes that Africa should pay attention to.
Who benefits the most from the labours of the working class in the capitalist world? The victims of capitalism are made to feel they are to blame for being exploited and that all the rich worked hard for their wealth. Nobody questions the social class related unequal access to both power and economic resources including bank loans.
For any Black nation to trust the White systems is the height of irrationality. Any system that forces you to bend your knees, serve it, and abandon all that is essential to you deserves rejection. Africa must not exist as a reservoir for resources that the West draws at a time of its choosing and at a cost it dictates. African choices must be informed by African citizenry interests.
Such terms as the ‘First World vs Third World’ are racial constructs and imply racism in terms of hierarchy; the notion that some humans (White people) are first and others (Brown, Black, etc.) behind. The generational White people prejudice against Black and non-White people have long been used to attach negative presumptions and perceptions of diminished value of certain groups of people and countries. If a fraction of what is happening in the US politics today were to happen in a non-White dominated country, the West would be disgusted and calls for change will reverberate across the continent, sanctions will hit that country immediately, but the US and Trump are close family members, not ‘third world disposables.’
Africa does have a duty to deal with immorality in its politics but let us start seeing what is good about African nations first, project it and then seriously tackle what makes the continent unsafe for certain population groups. We must not acquiesce to the Western political immorality cesspit.
